Art Space Winter Show: A Tradition of Affordable Art Art Space Gallery will host an opening reception on Friday evening, December 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., as part of AIR’s First Friday Art Walk in Rockland. Art Space Gallery is home to works by 19 artists, each bringing to the gallery his/her own style and artistic vision. The final exhibition of 2011 features myriad smaller works. The show is entitled, “Art Space Winter Show: A Tradition of Affordable Art”, and is exhibited now until just after the holidays.
All forms of visual arts can be found at Art Space, punctuating the artistic visions as varied in style as they are in media, materials, and subject matter. Gallery visitors will find scores of paintings, traditional and abstract, by the formidable talents of Audrey Bechler, Jill Caldwell, Emilia Carbone, Sandra Leinonen Dunn, Lauren Gill, Judy Herman, Lydia Kaeyer, Penny Markley, Hannah Nelsbach, Marjorie Straus, and Kay Sullivan. For visitors hungry for a more tactile experience, woodturnings by William Mack are sure to impress, as are the clay works by Randy Fein and Marjorie Walsh. From the gifted hands of Laurie Lofman Bellmore and Dan Bennett come timeless and singular jewelry. Nature’s true form cannot be better captured and presented than by Anne Wooster Metcalf’s monotype prints, and the original images by Joan Wright and Charles Laurier Dufour remind visitors that photography truly can be an inspiring art form.
