Spring fever is alive and well at the ART SPACE Gallery, where four artists will be featured beginning Friday, May 23. Dan Bennett, Hannah Nelsbach, Joan Wright and Anne Cronin share a love of all things Maine. Their art will be highlighted through June 16, Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the gallery, located at 342 Main Street in Rockland.

Dan Bennett creates watermelon red and pink necklaces and earrings using  (now) rare Maine tourmaline semi-precious stones. Many of his pieces feature pearls and other jewels as well as tourmaline. He will also create pieces to order. Anne Cronin's landscapes capture the special light that is mid-coast Maine. Hannah Nelsbach, a native of Germany who now lives in Boothbay, captures the subtle beauty of Maine landscapes in her oils and acrylics. Joan Wright includes scenes from her beloved Vinalhaven in her work. These four artists, along with their artistic colleagues, will be on hand to greet you at the gallery.

Other artists shown at the gallery for the 2008 season are Erik Amundsen, Laurie Lofman Bellmore, Jill  Caldwell, Len Clarke, Amy Cornell, Dan Daly, Sandra Dunn, Barbara Fischer Eldred, Randy Fein, Kathleen Fox, Peg Fields (showing the incredible watercolor, egg tempera and pastel landscapes of her late husband John Dehlinger), Joanne Houlsen, Nat Lewis, Jeannette Martin, Rebecca Rivers, Antje Roitzsch, and Marjorie Strauss.
