Before taking up watercolor and oil painting, Jerry was a lobster fisherman out of Spruce Head Island for 16 years. Along with fishing, Jerry built, sailed, and raced two Friendship Sloops.  While sailing Penobscot Bay, anchoring in remote coves, and exploring many of our Maine Islands, Jerry acquired a keen eye for coastal scenes.  These adventures are the inspiration for many of his paintings.

     

     Now living in Rockland, Jerry is mostly self taught, tho he has learned much in numerous painting workshops conducted by internationally known artists. To further express his creativity, Jerry builds rowing skiffs for discerning commercial fishermen and yachtsmen.
